The InciSioN Global Surgery Symposium (IGSS) 2025 invites you to submit an abstract and present your research to a global audience of experts, practitioners, and advocates. This year’s theme highlights the complexity of global surgery—extending beyond the operating room into policy, advocacy, public health, and innovation.
Both oral and poster presentations will be featured, and top presentations will be recognized with awards. The symposium will be hybrid, allowing participation both in person and virtually.
All accepted abstracts for IGSS 2025 will be included in the official abstract booklet. The booklet will be published digitally on JOGS.one and available to conference attendees and the broader research community.

When submitting your abstract, please be prepared to provide the following:
Abstract title
Presenter, degree/designation, affiliated institution/organization
Co-author(s) (if applicable), including degree/designation and affiliated institution. A maximum of 10 co-authors are allowed.
Abstract (Max. 250 words)
Research Track (see above) that defines your abstract best
Word Limit: 250 words (excluding title and references)
Language: English
Author Limit: A maximum of 10 co-authors per abstract
Submission Limit: Each author may submit up to two abstracts maximum
Abstracts should NOT be previously presented at another conference
Abstracts will be assessed based on:
✔ Relevance to global surgery
✔ Scientific rigor
✔ Originality
✔ Impact and contribution to the field
NOTE: As part of our commitment to equity we pay close attention to authorship roles and just presence of LMIC partners in submitted abstracts

The low-cost, high quality model allows anyone from the community to gain immediate access to an article for as little as $0.10. Contributors can use traditional payment methods or Bitcoin Cash to pay towards the article's price tag. Once the community has covered the full APC, the journal recoups its running costs and the article becomes open-access!
